ANOTHER MONTFORT KNIGHT QUALIFIES FOR STATE SPEECH AND DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIPS

Montfort Speech Team members August Boland and Laura Joaquin competed at a NYCFL Speech meet at Bronx Prep on Saturday. August placed 1st overall in Varsity Oral Interpretation and while Laura, a freshman, didn’t place, she received outstanding grades of 95 and 93 in her first and third rounds of a very competitive Declamation field. Earlier today, August attended the NYCFL Mickey Kullen Meet at Regis High School and once again placed first overall in Oral Interpretation. August has now qualified to join teammates Thomas Curro, Amanda Muscente and Kaitlyn Cucolo at the NYSFL State Championship meet in April. We are so proud of August and Laura and the entire Speech and Debate Team. Thank you Coach George DeGaetano for your outstanding dedication and leadership!
