Remembering 9/11
The Montfort Academy
Students at The Montfort Academy marked the anniversary of the attacks on September 11, 2001 with a solemn ceremony earlier today. Seniors Jayna Randolph and Will Grant lowered the school's flag to half mast to honor all those who perished in the 9/11 attacks and those who have died in the ensuing years fighting to defend and protect our country. Campus Minister Matthew Terilli led the school in a prayer and President Richard Greco, Jr. read from his diary of September 11th and offered his reflections on the sacrifice made by our servicemen and women. He quoted GK Chesterton who said "the true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him but because he loves what is behind him." Junior Maddisyn Campagnone beautifully sang our National Anthem and then our Schola led the entire school in singing America the Beautiful.
