MONTFORT MATH CLUB WELCOMES MR. PETER MCGRADE

The Montfort Math Club welcomed guest speaker Mr. Peter McGrade from Turtle & Hughes, a fourth generation family-owned and employee-owned business and one of the nation’s largest independent electrical and industrial distributors. Mr. McGrade shared with the students engineering and project management applications of mathematics in the field of variable speed drives and automation. Students left with comments such as “I learned that some of the things I learn in school will be valuable later even if I don’t currently see an application for them.” “I didn’t understand all of what he said but I understand that automation applications are all around us..the recycling plant information was interesting”.
