An Astronomy Weekend

On Friday, members of the Astronomy Club painted the ceiling of the planetarium with special screen projection paint and then helped Mr. Greco restore and rebuild an 8 inch Newtonian Reflector Telescope that was donated to Montfort years ago by Sr. Charles of the Franciscan Sisters of Peekskill. Sr. Charles made the telescope by hand as part of her studies in Astrophysics at Vassar.

Then on Sunday, the Club met at the Hudson River Museum to view two shows at the Planetarium, The Sky Tonight and Habitat Earth. Montfort alumna Vivian Crea works as a docent at HRM and led the group in one of the shows.
