The Montfort Academy Holds 13th Commencement Exercises

On Friday June 8th at 6:00 pm, The Montfort Academy held is Thirteenth Commencement Ceremony in the Church and said farewell to the twenty-five members of the Class of 2018.  The ceremony was replete with the highest academic traditions reaching back to the medieval colleges of Europe.  After the procession, the benediction, and the National Anthem, beautifully sung by our a cappella group, the class Salutatorian Nayh Seonarain welcomed everyone.  Following the welcome, the President of the Academy, Richard Greco, Jr., presented to Montfort the gift of a hand-made ceremonial mace that led the procession and which will lead all future academic processions at Montfort.  The ceremony then continued with the Joel L. Shin Memorial Latin Oration delivered by Catrina Estrella and the ancient Greek recitation offered by Mary Greco.  A musical interlude of sacred choral music followed, sung by The Montfort Academy schola cantorum.  Finally, the Valedictory address was offered by Gabriella Palomino, and the commencement address was delivered by guest speaker Vincenzo LaRuffa, KM, a private equity investor. Awards were presented followed by the conferring of the diplomas.
