CARDINAL KUNG FOUNDATION VISITS MONTFORT

Thank you to Mrs. Agnes Kung, board member of the Foundation and niece to the late Ignatius Cardinal Kung Pin-Mei, for visiting Montfort today and sharing his life story. Student listened attentively as Mrs. Kung detailed the heroism of the Cardinal during decades of persecution under the Chinese communist government and as she relayed the current state of the persecuted underground Roman Catholic Church in China which has been deemed illegal for over 60 years. The reality of the persecution of our Catholic brothers and sisters throughout the world is a great lesson for Montfort students to hear and is a call for all of us to pray fervently for them.
