MONTFORT SPEECH MEMBERS QUALIFY FOR NATIONALS

On March 16th, six members of the Montfort Speech team competed in the NYCFL Grand Stuyvesant meet, and one team member competed in the Mini-Stuyvesant Meet, both held at Stuyvesant High School in New York City.   This was the championship meet for the NYCFL.  The Montfort team placed 7th overall, out of 20 teams.  Thomas Curro, Makayla Josiah, Tanya Porcari and Jayna Randolph all "broke through" to the final round of their respective events, with Thomas and Makayla finishing 3rd and 4th overall, respectively.   This secured them a spot at the National Catholic Forensic League Championship in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in May.   Montfort is very proud of the seven team members who competed today and very grateful to Coach George DeGaetano for his dedication and hard work with this team!
