World Renowned Pianist Cristiana Pegoraro Performs at Montfort
World renowned concert pianist Cristiana Pegoraro visited The Montfort Academy on Thursday, May 17th. She began her visit by humbly introducing herself to students as Cristiana and telling them of her struggles and triumphs in pursuing her dream of piano. All dreams require personal sacrifice but her passion and love for piano was particularly inspiring to the students. After her talk, she delighted our students and the rest of the audience by performing four pieces: Rondo Alla Turca by Mozart; Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata; Bizet/Pegoraro Carmen Fantasy; and her own composition entitled The Wind and the Sea. The Montfort Academy is indebted to our dear friend Enzo Pizzimenti for arranging for this wonderful concert. It was an incredible experience that our students will remember for the rest of their lives.
Cristiana also extended a very special invitation to the students of The Montfort Academy to attend the Narnia Festival in Italy. Cristiana is the founder and President of the Narnia Festival, which brings together musicians and other performing artists and students from around the world in the magical city of Narni, which was the inspiration for C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia. This mystical city actually is the very geographic center of Italy as measured both North to South and East to West. Cristiana has founded a wonderful music school in Narnia and has invited Montfort students to take classes there.
Below you will find some photos of our wonderful afternoon with Cristiana. Enjoy the videos of some of her selections. You can find a full-length video of her talk to the students and the entire concert on The Montfort Academy's YouTube Channel beginning Monday May 21st.
